Kaitlyn Krushefski is a graduate student seeking an M.S. in Environmental Science at the University of Arizona. She grew up in Montana, surrounded by breathtaking rivers, forests, and mountain ecosystems. As an undergraduate student at Tulane University, she studied Psychology and Sociology with focuses in equity, diversity, inclusion, and environmental justice. Her interest in ecofeminism led her to conduct research on women’s role in environmental protection, discovering that women may be held disproportionately responsible for environmental stewardship, from leadership roles to domestic activities. Kaitlyn is excited to work with the Ramírez-Andreotta lab to learn more about the importance of community-engaged research for decolonizing science and the natural world.
