I am a senior majoring in Environmental Science with minors in Soil and Water and Sustainable Mineral Resources. I was born in Mexico City and lived there until I came to Tucson to study at the U of A. Living all my life in a big city, I got the experience the negative effects of environmental damage such as pollution, water problems and lack of interest in environmental issues. This helped me decide to pursue a career where I could help solve environmental problems and improve our environment.

Once in Tucson, I discovered minerals and rocks, and along with birds and airplanes, they became my hobby. Once I graduate, I would like to focus my work on sustainable mining, as well as the reclamation and redevelopment of these sites in order to restore them to functioning ecosystems.
