Jessika Mesa

My name is Jessika Mesa (she/her) and I am from Phoenix, Arizona. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude in environmental science in May 2022. I am a graduate student studying environmental science focusing on my thesis project. My research focuses on analyzing the results of Project Harvest (PH), a co-created citizen science project. I am comparing pre- and post-project survey results in order to determine the impact of PH on environmental health literacy (EHL) levels. Working with Dr. Ramirez-Andreotta has helped me realize my passion for environmental justice and health. I love working with communities and spreading my knowledge about the health (pollution, contaminants, etc.) of surrounding environments. I look forward to continuing my professional journey in environmental education after I complete my Master of Science degree.
